CROSS Topic Paper

Assumptions behind the Eurocodes

Region: CROSS-UK Published: 1 September 2010

Overview

This was published in 2009 and has to be read in that context. The main issues however are universally valid. Does the structural system provide adequate robustness? Can it be safely and economically constructed and maintained? Will interfaces be appropriately engineered and controlled? Is it an established system, used in normal circumstances, or is it unusual in some way?

Note: this Topic Paper was published by SCOSS (Standing Committee on Structural Safety). Since March 2021, SCOSS is integrated under the name Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures (CROSS).

Who should read this?
