During high winds, a number of metal cladding panels failed and fell to the ground from a tall commercial building in a major UK city.

Incorrectly fixed sheets blow off parapet
This report concerns aluminium coping sheets that blew off the parapet of a block of flats under construction. The reporter says a fierce wind blew off several sheets which fell to the ground about 9m below. A building and a car were damaged but thankfully no one was hurt, although the potential for personal injury or death was significant.

Called to inspect the failure of a glazed sliding door system a correspondent noted that the system comprised a two-part subhead, which includes a removable bead that relies on a bearing of only a few millimetres.
